Introduction to the job

As group leader of a software group within the Application Platform department, you lead and manage a group of professionals developing software for Business Line Apps; more specifically in scope of Process Window Control solutions for our customers like Micron, Intel, TSMC and Samsung. You are responsible and accountable for delivering and improving software development and drive the initiatives to enhance the quality and speed of software development.

Role and responsibilities

As Group leader you will:

• Manage resources (around 20 – 30 people) in a group of professionals in a specific area of expertise on the aspects related to people, process, and product. Define and implement the resource capacity and capability for the group.
• Work together with the Agile Release train steering committee to secure allocation of the right people to different teams in line with the program needs.
• Together with Peer Function groups, manage the commitments of the ART towards the business by developing right competence of the people and coaching them.
• Ensure quality of operation of your group by reviewing of technical solutions proposed, procedures, documentation delivered by the group.
• You are a member of the department staff and will have active contribution towards the strategic short term and long-term objectives of the department.
• Coach group members in their job and optimize their personal growth.
• Create, maintain, and validate enabling technologies.
• Focus on driving the team on proper execution to achieve high quality deliverables.
• You are a strong partner of the department quality manager to drive the quality improvements initiatives of the department and accountable for the root cause analysis for the issues found in the software delivered by the group.
  
  

Education and experience

We re looking for a person with Master or PhD level degree in science, preferred Computer Science with applied Mathematics and Physics chapters. To be successful in this role you need to have a solid engineering background experience and:

• 10+ years of experience in developing software in an industrial production environment.
• Experience with managing a group of highly skilled professionals.
• Persuasiveness and decisiveness, personal authority.
• Excellent stakeholder management.
• Technical skills to be a partner to your group members.
• Good communication skills, fluent in English.
• Experience in manage multicultural teams is a big plus.
